The Housing Authority of Bergen County, is pleased to announce that applications are now being accepted from income eligible disabled and/or senior citizens(62+) households for studio apartments at Boiling Springs Gardens located at 147 Hackensack St, East Rutherford, New Jersey.

Beginning Monday, January 11th, 2021 at 9:00 am through Friday, January 15th, 2021 at 4:00 pm the HABC will accept applications ONLINE ONLY. Applications will be available at www.habcnjwaitinglists.org. We will accept applications from single person households only.

A random selection lottery will be conducted to select 250 applicants to be placed on the wait list for future potential vacancies. The HABC will use a third party to randomly select 250 applicants by computer to be placed on the waiting list. In order to be eligible for the lottery, all completed applications must be received by 4:00 pm on Friday, January 15th, 2021. Applications received after 4:00 pm on Friday, January 15th, 2021 will be declined. The lottery will be held on Friday January 22nd, 2021, and the results will be posted by 4:00 pm Friday, January 29th, 2021 at www.habcnjwaitinglists.org.

For those who need assistance obtaining access to completing an application, the Housing Authority will make staff available at Boiling Springs Gardens, 147 Hackensack St. East Rutherford, NJ 07073. Staff will be made available to assist with the completion of applications beginning Monday, January 11th, 2021 at 9:00 am through Friday, January 15th, 2021 at 4:00 pm. Please do not arrive to Boiling Springs Gardens prior to 9:00 am. In our continued effort to protect our residents, staff, and applicants we require anyone arriving to Boiling Springs Gardens to wear a mask. The Housing Authority will have protective plexiglass walls placed between the applicant and the Housing Authority employee to ensure appropriate social distancing measures are in place.

In order to be eligible to apply, the head of household must be 62 years of age or older, or a disabled household with an annual gross income which cannot exceed the following income limits:

PREFERENCE WILL BE GIVEN TO APPLICANTS WHO LIVE WORK, TRAIN, OR ATTENDED SCHOOL IN BERGEN COUNTY. THE TOP 250 APPLICANTS IN THE LOTTERY WILL BE PLACED IN ORDER OF THEIR PREFERENCE WEIGHT. SELECTED APPLICATIONS WILL BE PLACED ON THE WAITING LIST FOR FUTURE POTENTIAL VACANCIES.
